books and cleverness

Really, it's a big let down isn't it? When all the exams are over. Well, in any case, I found them quite enjoyable. I think I did pretty well, all things considered. Of course, I won't know for sure for a little while yet, but I do feel good about them.

Now to start packing, since Christmas is coming quite soon. Ron, I'm really looking forward to going with you. Thank you again for inviting me.

I got so much done this weekend! Really, I found a few fascinating books. I realize some of them were suggested reading and not required, but I think they'll certainly help with the last few exams left before the holidays.

Ron. Are you planning on going home for Christmas this year?

I made it! I'll be on the academics competetive team! I'm excited.

I have so much reading to do now! I'm really looking forward to this.

The library. I should go to the library!

This is FANTASTIC. How did I never hear about this before? An academic competetive team? Amazing. What a brilliant idea. It's a good place to practice and put in some extra strudying. And the team from this school does include magic. There is no one on the team right now who specializes in magic. I think it'll be quite a bit of fun.

Oh I've got studying to do now, before I try out.

Oh... I hope I didn't mess this up. Starting it all over again will be such a pain. I don't have time. I have way too much to do for classes already without...

Where's that book? Did I return it to the library?

There. I think that'll do it. It took way too long. Almost a month, really. But it's done now. So we can keep a better eye on things back home. Ron, do you want to see? Since you helped me gathering the pixies supplies and all, I thought you might be interested in the outcome.

Shopping this weekend. Potion ingredients. Hopefully the shops in town will have what I need. If not I'll have to figure out somewhere else to get them...

Ha! There!

I'm quite finished with that then. I guess, in the end, I shouldn't have worried about it too badly. The work wasn't all that bad. It feels good to be caught up though. Definitely feels good. Really, I think it calls for a bit of celebration.

A whole week! I'll be so behind. I'll have to work extra hard to make up for that. I don't want to be behind all semester. Well, at least I have the weekend!

That is to say, I'm back.

I'm going to miss the first few days of school. I guess that'll put me behind a bit, but I think I can manage to catch up when I get back. I mean, I hope I can.

It doesn't matter anyway.

I'm making a trip home. I think I'll be back by next week some time.

I... hmm. Mum and Dad telephoned. Mum's been sick. They're not entirely sure what's wrong, but I'm sure she'll be fine. I mean, no, I'm certain of it.

Should I go back home?

I underestimated the mosquitoes, but! Ron, thank you for coming with me. I told you we wouldn't miss the start of school. And now I have plenty of time to work this spell before I have to start doing my reading before classes begin. Perfect. I have to admit the tips you had for sprite-catching, Ron, worked fantastically. Once the spell is over, we'll have to release them, of course. But until then, I think I gathered enough cowslips to to keep them happy and comfortable while I prepare the rest of the spell.

Camping was nice, maybe we should do it again some time when there's less work to be done and more fun to be had. Maybe? But for now, I really should get started on this.

This book is absolutely fascinating, and if it's correct, then there's much more flora and fauna in the area than we've managed to see yet. Some of it could be useful to have a closer look at. Do you like camping? Fantastic. I'll secure the tent. Umm, also, Ron? Sorry about not really answering you the other day... quite honesly. It's just that. Well. I figured it out anyway.

Times like this make me wish that Divination hadn't turned out to be such a load of absolute rubbish.

What else is there to do though? I guess I'll just have to wait and find out the old fashioned way. But that would require... No, none of that. Absolutely not.
